Exam Reflections

I agree with Kornstein999's thoughts about the exam. The ER diagram part was very challenging and i thought there would be more SQL. I focused most of my studying efforts on chapters 3 and 4 and was feeling pretty confident in SQL, but in hindsight I guess I should have focused more efforts on interpreting ER diagrams. The exam seemed more like a logic test than anything, which i realize is the basis of most of what we are doing, but I felt like some parts of the exam were illogical in nature. I feel the projects are a better test of our knowledge of the concepts, but I understand the importance of the exam because we may not have been able to complete the projects if we didn't study the material as much as the exam demanded.

Initial thoughts

Not being the most technologically savvy individual in the class, I feel I stand to learn a lot from this class. Given how the first couple of days have gone, I am looking forward to learning more about the practicality and application of the topics we are addressing. I think the most important thing for me is going to be being able to step back from the nitty gritty of what we are learning and see the bigger picture and grasping the significance of the topic. So with that in mind, I found this explanation of RSS to be helpful
